Ghana took a significant step toward bolstering its tourism and economic landscape as Dr. Mary Awusi, Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA), joined President John Dramani Mahama for the sod-cutting ceremony of Phase Four of the Bright International Industrial Park.
The event, held in Doryumu at Shai Hills, marked the launch of a transformative project led by Bright International, a Free Zones developer under the Greenhouse Group.
The ambitious initiative includes the development of a state-of-the-art amusement park, poised to become a world-class hub for entertainment, business, and leisure.
The 500-acre project will feature a golf course, clubhouse, hotel, conference center, water park, artificial beach, restaurants, and business zones. Set to be completed within two to three years, the park aims to operate vibrantly around the clock, symbolizing Ghana’s growing stature as a destination for tourism and investment.
President Mahama praised the Greenhouse Group for its substantial contributions to Ghana’s economy, noting its establishment of over 70 companies across agriculture, real estate, manufacturing, and aquaculture since 2011.
With investments exceeding USD 700 million, the group’s vision aligns with the government’s commitment to fostering a 24-hour economy. Mahama assured continued support for investors driving such impactful projects.

Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, emphasized the government’s dedication to creating a favorable investment climate. She described the amusement park as a flagship destination that will elevate Ghana’s tourism sector.
Hon. Dzifa Abla Gomashie, Minister of Tourism and Culture, and Mr. Zheng Xiangming, Chairman of the Greenhouse Group, also attended the ceremony, underscoring the project’s significance.
Later that day, Dr. Awusi accompanied President Mahama to commission Invess Manufacturing Ltd., a new Free Zone enterprise focused on fertilizer production for export. The events were attended by GFZA’s Deputy CEO, Mr. Hamidu Sibiri Musah, alongside other senior management, highlighting the authority’s pivotal role in advancing Ghana’s economic growth.
