The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has asked Nigerians to report all issues related to NIN-SIM linkage to their mobile network providers, following a full migration to its new verification platform, NINAuth.
In a statement signed by Dr. Kayode Adegoke, the Head of Corporate Communications, the Commission announced that all telecommunications operators have now integrated with the upgraded NINAuth infrastructure.
“The NINAuth platform enhances data protection, gives control of personal data to the owners, offers seamless verification, and provides convenient sign-on access to services,” Adegoke said.
NIMC explained that with the system fully in place, users facing challenges such as SIM registration, swap, migration, or reactivation should contact their network providers for resolution.
This move comes after recent disruptions that affected SIM-related services nationwide, which telecom operators linked to the migration process.

The Commission noted that the NINAuth upgrade is part of efforts to improve the efficiency and security of identity verification in Nigeria’s digital ecosystem. It also assured the public that its Verification and Authentication Service platforms remain fully operational.
“The public is assured that the platforms are accessible and functional. Any issue being experienced by NIN holders should now be directed to the telcos for immediate attention,” the statement added.
The NIN-SIM linkage, which became mandatory in 2020, was introduced as part of Nigeria’s strategy to bolster digital security and reduce fraud. With the new infrastructure now active, NIMC says telecom operators are equipped to manage identity-linked services without delay.
