The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has issued a warning to the public regarding the proper use of Naphthalene-containing products, which are registered as insecticides in Ghana.
In a statement released on Tuesday, June 4, the FDA stressed the importance of using these products strictly according to the instructions on their labels to ensure safety and efficacy.
The FDA highlighted that the labels on registered Naphthalene products include critical warnings and cautions, such as keeping them away from children, food, water, and fire due to their flammability.
The authority has mandated specific labelling requirements to ensure that users are aware of the correct directions for use and proper storage instructions, aiming to prevent accidents and misuse.
