Kenya Electricity Transmission Company (KETRACO) Managing Director, Dr. John Mativo, has paid a courtesy visit to Royal Media Services as part of effort in combating the rising issue of electricity transmission infrastructure vandalism.
During the visit, Dr. Mativo urged the media giant to leverage its extensive platforms to spearhead campaigns against vandalism, address challenges related to wayleaves acquisition and compensation, and promote KETRACO’s fiber services to telecommunication and broadcasting entities.
The meeting, hosted by Royal Media Services CEO, Mr. Wachira Waruru, served as a platform for KETRACO to demystify its mandate and Transmission Master Plan to stakeholders.
Mr. Waruru, along with key representatives from Royal Media Services, including Yvonne Okwara (Business Editor) and Michael Ngugi (Commercial Director), unveiled the company’s radio, TV, and digital platforms for KETRACO’s use in disseminating information about its initiatives.
The collaboration marks a significant step towards raising public awareness about the importance of preserving electricity transmission infrastructure and fostering a more secure and sustainable energy network in Kenya.
