The Kumasi Zonal Office of the National Communication Authority (NCA) collaborated with the Kwanwoma Health Centre in the Atwima Kwanwoma District to mark this year’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month on Friday, October 13, 2023.
The event, which saw the participation of approximately 100 attendees, was dedicated to spreading awareness about breast cancer, its causes, effects, and preventive measures.
The day commenced with an informative address from the Zonal Manager, Ms. Diana Owusu-Ansah, who highlighted the functions of the NCA and some of its ongoing projects.
Participants were educated on a variety of important topics, including Consumer Complaints Management Procedure, Consumer Rights and Responsibilities, and Unsolicited Electronic Communications (UECs).
The Atwima Kwanwoma District health nurse, Ms. Sandra Amofa Kodua, and her team played a significant role in educating the attendees about breast cancer, providing valuable insights into the disease.
To culminate the campaign, a Clinical Breast Examination (CBE) was administered to all participants, reinforcing the significance of early detection and preventive healthcare measures.
