President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has inaugurated the Jubilee South East (JSE) Project, signifying the commencement of oil production from a new well in the offshore Jubilee Field.
This successful venture, a part of the $4 billion Value Maximisation Plan initiated by the lead operators, Tullow Ghana and its partners, is set to enhance Ghana’s oil production significantly.
The JSE Project adds an impressive 30,000 barrels of light sweet crude oil per day to the existing output, a crucial boost to the nation’s revenue and economy.
The project’s success is a testament to the commitment to local development, as over 90% of the complex offshore infrastructure fabrication was carried out by Ghanaian suppliers and companies.
This achievement not only highlights the evolution of Ghana’s supplier base but also underscores the partners’ dedication to nurturing local competences and capabilities.
President Akufo-Addo praised the Jubilee partners for their exceptional commitment, emphasizing the pivotal role of the oil and gas sector in Ghana’s growth and prosperity, as well as its contribution to the nation’s GDP, exports, and government revenues.
