Principal Secretary of the State Department of Energy, Kenya, Alex Wachira has expressed his satisfaction as he welcomed the participation of Hon. Vincent Musau and Vice Chair Hon. Lemanken Aramat from the Departmental Committee on Energy in the National Assembly as part of the Kenyan delegation for the Foundational Infrastructure for Responsible use of Small Modular Technology (FIRST) study tour.
During the tour, the delegation engaged in a bilateral meeting with the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission, led by Chairman Mr. Christopher Hanson.

The commission was sought to support Kenya as a newcomer country in developing its regulatory infrastructure.
The discussions focused on areas such as model regulations, site evaluation, information sharing, technical training, capacity building through exchange programs, public participation, and high-level workshops, as outlined by Principal Secretary Alex Wachira in a written statement.
