President William Ruto has appointed the former Sports Cabinet Secretary, Rashid Echesa as the Chairman of the Kenya Water Tower Agency Board.
Echesa will therefore serve in this position for a three-year term, starting from today May 19, 2023.
He previously dismissed from the Cabinet by former President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2020. Since then, Echesa has been actively involved with Dr. Ruto’s political campaigns in the Western Kenya region.
In addition to Echesa’s appointment, other key figures were also given state roles. Kelvin Lunani, the leader of Amani National Congress (ANC) who lost in the August 2022 elections, has been named the Chair of the Yearbook Editorial Board for a three-year period.
Former East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) MP, Simon Mbugua, a member of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party, has also been appointed as the Chairman of the Policyholders Compensation Fund.
