Kenya Forest Service is encouraging fellow countries to undertake local, national and international efforts towards activities involving forests and trees.
This comment comes on as the International Day of Forests draws closer.
The United Nations General Assembly proclaimed 21st March the International Day of Forests in 2012 to celebrate and raise awareness of the importance of all types of forests.
“Countries are encouraged to undertake local, national and international efforts to organize activities involving forests and trees, such as tree planting campaigns.
Forests play a central role in combating the biggest health threat facing humanity: Climate change,” the Service wrote.
