The Governor of Ekiti State, John Kayode Fayemi has Commissioned the Ekiti State Airport some hours before his leave of office.
The Airforce Aircraft 930 Conveying the Minister for Aviation Hadi Sirika alongside his entourage landed at the Airport at exactly 10:20am, and then proceeded to inaugurate the Airport.
According to the Governor, the Cargo Airport is of international standard and can comfortably accommodate more than 5 Boeing 747 at once.
Speaking and commending the initiative, the Minister for Aviation Says Airports are not White Elephant Projects as it connects Trade, Culture, and Industries to the World.
He advised the people of the State to take to Agriculture and Begin to Produce things they can export to every part of the World from Ekiti.
The entire Acquired Land was 29.9 Kilometres from 9 Communities covering 3 Local Governments in Ekiti State.
The initiative got applause from people across the world and a great achievement for the people of Ekiti.
