Declaring the programme open, the State’s Head of Service, Mr Orok Okon, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening its workforce with the competencies required to deliver efficient, technology-enabled public services.

Representing the NITDA Director General at the ceremony, the Director of the Stakeholder Management and Partnership Department, Dr. Aristotle Onumo, delivered a keynote address stressing the urgent need for Nigeria’s public service to transition “from bureaucracy to digital excellence.”
He observed that citizens now expect government services to mirror the speed, transparency, and convenience associated with digital banking and e-commerce platforms.
Dr. Onumo commended Cross River State for embracing digital transformation and urged the adoption of modern digital tools, automated systems, and technology-driven skills to deliver faster, smarter, and more trusted public services.
His message was unequivocal: a truly high-performance public service must leverage technology to deliver excellence, anytime, anywhere, and for everyone.
