Prime Cabinet Secretary and Foreign Affairs Minister Dr. Musalia Mudavadi , challenged Kenya’s newly appointed High Commissioners, Ambassadors, and Consul Generals to champion integrity, patriotism, and trade-driven diplomacy as they take up postings abroad, warning that their conduct will shape the nation’s global reputation.
Speaking at a graduation ceremony held at his Railway Headquarters offices, Dr. Mudavadi presented certificates to the envoys who completed an intensive pre-departure training program at the Foreign Service Academy. He congratulated them on their appointments by President William Ruto, describing their roles as “a profound honor and a weighty responsibility” to represent 56 million Kenyans with humility and wisdom.
“Master Sessional Paper No. 1 of 2025—it is your compass,” Mudavadi declared, urging the diplomats to align every engagement with Kenya’s refreshed foreign policy blueprint. He placed particular emphasis on economic diplomacy, calling it “the engine of our growth,” and tasked the envoys with unlocking investment and job opportunities for Kenya’s restless youth demographic.

“Diplomacy must never be detached from the people,” he stressed. “You are not strangers to Kenyans at home or in the diaspora. Engage them relentlessly—make foreign policy responsive, inclusive, and grounded in credible data.”

In a major announcement, Dr. Mudavadi revealed that the Cabinet had approved the opening of new Kenyan diplomatic missions in Denmark, Vietnam, and the Vatican—a strategic expansion aimed at deepening trade, cultural, and multilateral ties in Europe, Southeast Asia, and the Holy See.
Acting Foreign Service Academy Director-General Amb. Patrick Wamoto praised the rigorous training curriculum, which covered economic diplomacy, diaspora mobilization, climate advocacy, and crisis management. “Your decisions will echo far beyond embassy walls,” he told the graduates. “You carry Kenya’s dignity—guard it fiercely.”
