The Eko Electricity Distribution Company (Eko Disco) has announced the confirmation of Mrs. Rekhiat Momoh as its substantive Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, cementing her leadership after she spent several months in an acting capacity.
The appointment, confirmed by the company’s board, is seen as a strategic move to ensure stable and experienced leadership as the utility company navigates the complexities of Nigeria’s dynamic power sector.
Mrs. Momoh’s ascent to the top position began in March 2024, when the Board of Eko Disco appointed her as the Acting Chief Executive Officer, effective March 26, 2024. That initial appointment followed the redeployment of the former MD/CEO, Mrs. Tinuade Sanda, back to the core investor, WPG Ltd.

A seasoned professional with nearly three decades of experience, Momoh is a respected figure in the Nigerian electricity industry. Her career spans tenures at the legacy National Electric Power Authority (NEPA), the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN), and within Eko Disco itself.
Her extensive background covers critical areas such as commercial operations, marketing, distribution management, and customer service. Colleagues and industry observers describe her as a results-driven executive whose deep institutional knowledge is expected to be a significant asset in her new role.
Mrs. Momoh hails from Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State.
