The Special Adviser to the President on Policy and Coordination, Hadiza Bala Usman, on Thursday led a strategic engagement session with the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction in Abuja.
The meeting brought together the Minister of State, Dr. Yusuf Tanko Sununu, the Permanent Secretary, as well as Heads of Agencies, Programmes, and Departments within the Ministry, to review its 2025 High Impact Deliverables and Indicators.
She underscored that these initiatives remain central to delivering on the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
However, Bala Usman raised concerns about the operations of the National Social Investment Programmes Agency (NSIPA), particularly the lack of clarity around how Conditional Cash Transfers are being disbursed to vulnerable Nigerians.

She pointed out persistent reporting gaps and coordination challenges across key programmes such as the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP), N-Power, Conditional Cash Transfers, and the National Home-Grown School Feeding Programme (NHGSFP), warning that these issues continue to hinder effective service delivery and accountability.
The Special Adviser stressed the need for greater transparency, stronger data systems, and a review of the Ministry’s 2025 deliverables, to ensure alignment with its mandate and the expectations of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
