The Ghana Water Ltd. (GWL) has announced an interruption in water supply to several communities in the North-Eastern part of Accra following a fire outbreak at the Dodowa Booster Station.
According to management, operations at the facility have been temporarily shut down to allow engineers to carry out comprehensive repair works. Technical teams are currently on site and working around the clock to restore full functionality.
The Dodowa Booster Station supplies water to multiple communities, and as a result, residents in East Legon, Agbogba, Haatso, Atomic Frafraha, Ashaley Botwe, Adjiringanor, Ashongman, Dome, Adenta, Madina, Oyarifa, and surrounding areas are expected to experience low water pressure or complete service disruption.
GWL management expressed regret over the inconvenience caused and assured the public that alternative arrangements are being made to ensure water supply to critical institutions, including schools and hospitals.
Residents and institutions that may exhaust their water storage are advised to contact their respective Municipal Chief Executives (MCEs), Assembly Members, or Unit Committee Members.
