The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced that the Government of Ghana has fully settled all outstanding arrears of the Capitation Grant owed to basic schools across the country from 2023 to date.
In a statement issued by the Head of Public Relations, Daniel Fenyi, GES emphasized that the payment underscores the government’s strong commitment to the effective and smooth operation of basic education. The arrears covered by the payment date back to 2023 and reflect practical support towards improving education delivery nationwide.
The Capitation Grant, which provides schools with essential funding for teaching and learning materials, minor repairs, and other management activities, plays a crucial role in enhancing school autonomy and ensuring quality education.
