The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced plans to roll out a fully digital application process for the Combined Expatriate Residence Permit and Automated Card (CERPAC) starting August 1, 2025.
According to a statement signed by ACI Akinlabi, Service Public Relations Officer, the digital platform is part of the Federal Government’s broader efforts to reform and modernize the NIS.
The new online portal, accessible will enable applicants to submit their CERPAC applications entirely online.
The NIS highlighted that the transition to a digital process is aimed at enhancing transparency, improving efficiency, and delivering a better user experience for applicants. From August 1st, 2025, the use of physical CERPAC forms will be discontinued, and all applications must be submitted exclusively through the online system.

Applicants who have paid for, but not yet submitted, their CERPAC forms are urged to complete and submit them on or before July 31st, 2025, to prevent losing their application status and associated payments. Similarly, individuals and organizations responsible for immigration matters involving expatriates are advised to finalize any pending submissions before the deadline to avoid disruptions.
The shift to digital applications marks a significant step in Nigeria’s ongoing digital transformation agenda, aiming to improve public service delivery and streamline administrative processes.
