Within one year of administration, Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye has revealed the effect of his economic reform strategies.
It was noted that the administration has largely been involved in curbing food inflation since the elections, initiating a national audit of the previous government, and kicking off an agricultural revitalization plan aimed at enhancing food sovereignty.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister, Ousmane Sonko has been overseeing a government endeavor to enhance public administration through curbing wastage and rationalizing state expenditures. The government held a national conference on justice, especially in light of growing public concern about the independence and transparency of the judiciary.
Speaking about the noticeable national changes the administration has made, the youthful resident of Dakar stated, “The project is so far good.” He added, ”We’re confident it is going to work. But they have to accept criticism. ”

Meanwhile, while allies argue these are important first steps toward structural reform, critics reiterated that more tangible results are needed. The opposition has been complaining about a paucity of visible results in the area of job creation and economic revival, even as the administration has outlined such goals.
According to one anonymous, “We haven’t seen any of the promises from the government [implemented],”
”They had asked us to fight by promising young people projects and assuring us that there would be work. But we haven’t seen anything yet,” he argued.
A leader of the opposition party, Mouhamdou Mane, added that: “This is indeed a disappointment. Insofar as the referential document is concerned, there are no projects they have launched that actually emanate from their referential called Senegal Vision 2050. I think that, for the time being, we need to find mechanisms to revive our economy.”
