Senegal’s Minister of African Integration and Foreign Affairs, Ms. Yassine Fall, undertook a one-day official visit to the Islamic Republic of Mauritania. The mission, which included high-level diplomatic meetings, reflects a growing commitment to deepening cooperation between the neighboring West African nations.
Representing Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye, Ms. Fall was received by Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani. During their meeting, she conveyed a special message from President Faye, reaffirming Senegal’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing diplomatic collaboration.

Accompanied by a parliamentary delegation—including the President of the Foreign Affairs Committee and two diaspora MPs—Ms. Fall engaged in constructive discussions with Mauritanian officials. These talks explored new avenues for cooperation in economic, cultural, and political sectors.
The visit also included an interactive session with the Senegalese community in Nouakchott, where Ms. Fall assessed the living conditions of Senegalese citizens in Mauritania and reiterated the government’s ongoing support for its diaspora.
The diplomatic mission underscores Senegal’s commitment to fostering strong, collaborative ties with Mauritania, grounded in solidarity, mutual respect, and a shared vision for regional progress.
