Speaking at the inauguration, GWL’s Managing Director, Mr. Adam Mutawakilu, emphasized the committee’s crucial role in fostering transparency and accountability. The committee will work closely with management and internal audit units to implement audit recommendations and strengthen the company’s risk management framework. Dr. Eric Oduro Osae, Director-General of the Internal Audit Agency, administered the official induction and charged the committee to provide proactive oversight and submit the 2024 Audit Committee Report by June.
“You are not whistleblowers but support structures to guide management and prevent issues before they arise,” Dr. Osae remarked, urging members to actively engage with external auditors and align their work with upcoming government policy directives for State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs).
In her inaugural address, Madam Tetteh commended GWL for maintaining a clean financial record and pledged to uphold the organization’s integrity through collaborative engagement with management and stakeholders.
