The government of Botswana, through the Special Economic Zones Authority (SEZA), has officially launched the Airport City Special Economic Zone (SEZ).
In a Facebook post, the government highlighted the SEZ’s primary goals of attracting both foreign and local investment, stimulating economic growth, and creating sustainable employment opportunities.
This initiative is seen as a critical step toward fostering a more diversified economy in Botswana by encouraging investment in key sectors such as logistics, manufacturing, and aviation services.
SEZA emphasized the SEZ’s potential to significantly drive the country’s economic development.
“To explore investment opportunities within the SEZ, its benefits, and potential collaborations, we will discuss the SEZ’s critical role in driving economic growth and job creation,” the government’s statement read.
The Airport City SEZ is expected to offer a range of incentives for investors, including streamlined business processes and tax benefits, positioning it as a strategic hub for regional and international trade.
