The Ministry of Roads and Highways has introduced a new mobile application, ‘Maintain My Road,’ aimed at enhancing public involvement in road maintenance.
The app, launched along with a dedicated call centre, allows citizens across Ghana to report road defects such as potholes directly from their phones.
“Report potholes and other road defects with your phone,” the ministry encouraged in a statement, highlighting the convenience and accessibility of the new platform.
The app, available for download on both Android and iOS devices, is designed to make the reporting process straightforward.
Users can upload photos and descriptions of road issues, precisely tag the location using GPS, and even track the progress of their reports.
This digital approach, the Ministry asserts, is part of a broader strategy to improve the condition of roads throughout the country by involving the public in identifying areas needing attention.
For those without access to smartphones, the Ministry has also established a call centre that will operate from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
This centre provides an alternative means for citizens to report road defects, hazards, and other related issues.
By launching the app and call centre, the Ministry of Roads and Highways aims to respond more efficiently to road maintenance needs, ultimately ensuring safer and better roads for all Ghanaians.
