Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda has announced a major reshuffle of the State Executive Council on Wednesday, just hours before commencing a one-month vacation.
The reshuffle, which aims to enhance the performance and service delivery of the state government, was detailed in a statement by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Mohammed.
“This strategic reorganisation aims to optimise the performance of the state government and ensure the effective delivery of services to the people of Katsina State,” the statement read.
The reshuffle sees several commissioners taking on new roles: Dr. Bashir Saulawa will head the Ministry of Water Resources, Hadiza Yar’Adua moves to the Ministry of Women Affairs, Zainab Musawa is appointed to the Ministry of Education, and Hamza Faskari will lead the Ministry of Environment.
Other appointments include Isa Musa to the Ministry of Higher, Technical and Vocational Education, Yusuf Jirdede to the Ministry of Special Duties, Prof. Abdulhamid Mani to the Ministry of Rural and Social Development, and Musa Funtua to the Ministry of Health. The governor has directed all affected commissioners to hand over their current responsibilities to the Permanent Secretaries of their respective ministries immediately and assume their new roles without delay to ensure continuity in government operations.
