Governor Guyo’s administration has revealed successfully reducing malnutrition rates in Isiolo County from 17% to 13%.
Deputy Governor and CEC Health Services Dr. James Lowasa, speaking on behalf of Governor Abdi Ibrahim Guyo, hosted Catholic Relief Services (CRS) board members and their US donors at the Governor’s office to discuss ongoing collaborative efforts.
Dr. Lowasa praised CRS for their vital role in addressing various development challenges, including water scarcity and fodder production for herders, which have collectively contributed to the reduction in malnutrition.
During the meeting, Mr. Mohamed Boru, Deputy County Secretary for NGOs Coordination and Partnerships, and Dr. Lawrence, CEC Tourism, Wildlife, Trade, and Cooperatives Development, emphasized the importance of sustainable community projects.
They highlighted the successful collaboration with CRS and other USAID partners through initiatives like the USAID-Nawiri project, which focuses on capacity building in agriculture, health, and water sectors.
The CRS board members and donors later visited water projects co-implemented with the County Government, underscoring the tangible impacts of these partnerships.
