The Oyo/Osun Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has reported the generation of ₦6.3 billion in May 2024 alone.
According to Customs Area Controller Dr. Ben Oramalugo, for the first five months of the year, the Command generated ₦30.7 billion, representing a 5.2% increase from the ₦29.2 billion generated during the same period in 2023.
“I am delighted to announce that the Oyo/Osun Area Command has demonstrated much resilience and has successfully generated ₦6,335,842,600.28 for the month of May 2024,” he stated during a press briefing at the Command’s headquarters in Ibadan.
When combined with revenues from January to April 2024, the total revenue for the first five months of the year reached an impressive ₦30.7 billion. This figure represents a 5.2% increase from the ₦29.2 billion generated during the same period in 2023.
Dr. Oramalugo attributed this success to the dedication and efficiency of the officers in ensuring compliance and maximizing revenue collection.
“The increase is a testament to the dedication and efficiency of our officers,” he noted, emphasizing the team’s commitment to excellence despite the economic headwinds.
Dr. Oramalugo highlighted that these achievements are indicative of the Command’s robust strategies and effective operational execution.
