Managing Director of the of the Nigerian Ports Authority, Mohammed Bello KoKo, has held a process improvement meeting with executives of the Barge Owners Association of Nigeria (BOAN) at the NPA Headquarters in Marina.
The meeting focused on providing the support necessary to optimize the value chain of barge operations.
They also discussed an infusion of professionalism to sustainably ensure the safety of lives and investments at all times.
The deployment of barges for the evacuation of cargo from the ports to hinterland using the waterways to reduce pressure and congestion on the road corridor is an interventionist initiative of the NPA that has grown into a huge direct and indirect employment generation business endeavour.
