The Minister for Information, Honourable Fatimatu Abubakar has appealed for unanimous
support from the media to fastrack the passage of the broadcasting bill when it is brought before parliament.
She indicated that the bill is crucial for the development of the media industry and the country as a whole.
She emphasized that the bill will help regulate the broadcasting industry, promote local content, and protect the rights of consumers especially children.
The Minister made these remarks as part of her media tour which took her to the Ignite media(Metro TV and Original TV), Omni media( Citi FM and Citi TV), B&FT and TV XYZ on May 27th, 2024.
