The Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) has officially opened the Bayelsa State Coordinating Office in Yenagoa.
The Executive Director/CEO, Mrs Nonye Ayeni highlighted the importance of collaboration with stakeholders to promote non-oil exports and drive economic diversification.
With the commissioning of the Bayelsa State Coordinating Office, exporters now have access to NEPC’s services, enabling them to tap into the state’s rich aquatic life and cultural heritage for export potential.
She urged stakeholders to leverage these resources to increase foreign earnings and boost the state’s revenue base.
The ED/CEO emphasized the Council’s commitment to its mandate of developing and promoting non-oil exports, alongside its current initiative, “Operation Double Your Export”, aimed at boosting export growth for economic diversification and job creation.
To achieve this, the Council plans to work closely with the state government and the exporting community, offering support in areas such as provision of aggregation centers, operationalization of the Domestic Export Warehouse, and Capacity Building for exporters, particularly SMEs.
