The National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency (NESREA) of Nigeria has held a meeting with a elegation from the US Embassy in efforts to combating Wildlife crimes in the country.
The delegation from the US Embassy was led by the Environment, Science, Technology and Health Officer, Mr. Daniel Renna.
“Scaling up efforts at combating Wildlife crimes was the crux of the meeting between NESREA top management team and a Delegation from the US Embassy led by the Environment, Science, Technology and Health Officer, Mr. Daniel Renna,” NESREA write in a release.
The team was received by the DG/ CEO , Mr. Aliyu Jauro represented by the Director Inspection and Enforcement, Mr. Abdulsalam Isa.
The US Delegation lauded Nigeria on the efforts being made to checkmate wildlife crimes in the country, particularly with the recent incineration of 3.9 tonnes of seized pangolin scales and crushing of 2.5 tonnes of confiscated ivory .
