The Department of Water, Environment, Climate Change, and Natural Resources has joined the global community in celebrating World Engineering Day under the theme “Engineering Solutions for a more sustainable world.”
World Engineering Day, observed annually on March 4th, honors the invaluable contributions of engineers worldwide towards addressing pressing global challenges such as climate change, poverty, inequality, and environmental degradation.
As part of the commemoration, tree planting activities were organized in several schools, including Koinange and Mama Ngina Primary Schools in Shabab Ward, Nakuru Town West Subcounty.
Kimani Kuria, representing the Department of Water and Environment, expressed gratitude towards engineers for their unwavering commitment to creating solutions.Kuria encouraged aspiring individuals to consider engineering as a pathway to effect positive change.
“Engineering isn’t just about building things;it involves envisioning a better world and tirelessly striving to actualize that vision.If you want to change the world for the better, become an engineer,”noted Mr Kuria.
The event saw participation from Egerton University, The Institute of Engineers of Kenya, and esteemed dignitaries, highlighting a collective commitment towards sustainable engineering practices.
