The Lagos State Residents Registration Agency (LASRRA) has been provided with a space at the Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH), Ikorodu, to provide Unique Identification numbers and LAG-ID cards for all students and Staff of the Institution and its environs.
Speaking at the Institution’s main campus at Itoikin Road, Ikorodu, Lagos on Monday during a visit to the Vice Chancellor, the General Manager of LASRRA Mrs. Bilikiss Adebiyi-Abiola reiterated that the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu is ready to make living worthwhile for every resident in the State irrespective of age, educational background and as such, residents must make sure that they register with LASRRA.
Adebiyi-Abiola revealed that it is in fulfilment of this, that the Vice Chancellor of LASUSTECH deemed it important to allocate a space to LASRRA for a seamless registration of the institution’s teeming student population.
The General Manager said, “All prospective students of any Lagos State Tertiary Institution require a LASRRA number before they can be admitted. Before you enjoy any privilege, you must be a resident and we plan to collaborate with other Lagos State Tertiary Institutions in this regard as well”, she said.
Adebiyi-Abiola, therefore, promised that the Agency is ready to take ownership of the space and will start operations immediately.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olumuyiwa Odusanya, who expressed enthusiasm for the fact that the operations will begin immediately, acknowledged the fact that the Centre will ease a lot of stress for students and staff of the institution.
He added that it would also allow the institution to closely monitor and make provisions for the needs of the students and staff as well as strengthen the security apparatus around the institution. The two bosses also discussed how they could collaborate and add value to the institution.
Also in attendance were the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic) Professor Abiodun Denloye and the Director, Information and Public Relations, LASUSTECH, Mr. Lanre Kuye, among others.
