Dr. Bernard Okoe Boye, the outgoing Chief Executive of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has commissioned a Customer Service Point, dubbed the Pulpit Initiative, on February 15, 2024.
This initiative, launched at Damongo during the inaugural ceremony of the Savannah Regional NHIA office complex, aims to elevate the experience of NHIS cardholders when seeking healthcare.
By stationing NHIS staff at accredited healthcare facilities, the initiative will ensure swift resolution of members’ concerns, particularly regarding illegal charges often levied by some healthcare providers for NHIS-covered services.
In efforts to reinforce ethical standards within the healthcare sector, Dr. Okoe Boye emphasized the importance of eliminating unlawful fees for NHIS-covered services.
As part of the NHIA’s infrastructure expansion agenda, Dr. Okoe Boye also inaugurated seven modern facilities across the Northern regions, alongside the distribution of operational vehicles to select NHIS district offices.
