President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has unveiled his long-awaited ministerial reshuffle, marking the first major overhaul since his assumption of office in January 2017.
The move comes amidst mounting pressure for a shake-up within the administration.
Notable changes include the replacement of Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta with Mohammed Amin Adam, the former Minister of State at the Ministry of Finance.
Additionally, Henry Quartey, the incumbent Greater Accra Regional Minister, has been reassigned to lead the Interior Ministry, succeeding Ambrose Dery.
Bernard Okoe Boye, previously serving as the Chief Executive Officer of the NHIA, has been tapped as the Minister-designate for Health.
Overall, the reshuffle impacts 13 ministers of state, along with 13 deputy ministers and two regional ministers.
Following this new development, President Akufo-Addo has submitted a comprehensive list of proposed appointments to Parliament for prior approval.
Among the nominees are Sylvester Tetteh, Member of Parliament for Bortianor-Ngleshie Amanfro, who is set to assume the role of Deputy Information Minister.
Tetteh will be joined by Charles Acheampong and Vincent Ekow Assafuah, who are slated to serve as deputies in the Ministries of Local Government, Decentralization and Rural Development, and Communications and Digitalization, respectively.
