Speaker of the Parliament of the United Republic of Tanzania and President of the International Parliamentary Union (IPU), Hon. Dr. Tulia Ackson (Mb), has led the Parliamentarians of the Parliament of the United Republic of Tanzania in the dinner ceremony and the awarding of prizes to the winners of the 13th East African Community Parliamentary Games.
Held on December 18, 2023 at the Conference Hall Kigali and Demonstration Village in Rwanda, the Speaker thanked the President of Rwanda, Hon. Paul Kagame and all citizens for the hospitality they showed throughout the games.
She also urged the MPs of the countries of the East African Community to see that the victory of the World Parliamentary Union belongs to all the members of the Community and asked the MPs to continue to maintain the unity so that it continues to exist and bring about common development in East Africa.
The Speaker presented a gift of a Maasai sheet and a picture of the Tanzanian Parliament building to the Speaker of the Rwandan Parliament, Hon. Mukabalisa Donatile.
