The Honourable Minister of Communication, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani has led the Nigerian delegation in signing the Final Act of the Radio Regulations on behalf of the country.
The delegation signed this radio regulations at the International Telecommunication Union’s (ITU) World Radiocommunication Conference 2023, strenghtening Nigeria’s commitment to global telecommunications standards.
Dr. Tijani, accompanied by key figures including Dr. Aminu Maida, the Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), and Jane Egerton-Idehen, Managing Director of the Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited (NigComSat), contributed to shaping the future of international telecommunications.
The World Radiocommunications Conference, held every three to four years by the ITU, is a pivotal treaty conference that reviews and updates the international Radio Regulations governing spectrum and satellite orbits.
The WRC-23 witnessed the approval of 43 new resolutions and the revision of 56 existing ones.
With participation from over 3,900 delegates representing 163 Member States, including 88 ministerial-level participants, the conference saw a total of 151 Member States signing the Final Acts.
