The Energy Commission has completed the third phase of its nationwide institutional visits to engage stakeholders in the Electricity Supply Industry, aiming to raise awareness of the provisions outlined in the Energy Commission (Local Content and Local Participation) (Electricity Supply Industry) Regulation L.I.2354.
Additionally, the visit showcased the functionality of the online registration portal designed for receiving applications related to the issuance of a Certificate of Authorization, ensuring adherence to L.I.2354 compliance.
Effective since December 2017, the L.I.2354 serves various purposes, including the enhancement of local financial capital, expertise, goods, and services.
It also seeks to foster local capacity development within the Electricity Supply Industry and promote the local manufacturing of electrical equipment, appliances, and renewable energy devices.
The Regulations stipulate that entities involved in any activity within the Electricity Supply Industry (ESI) must undergo registration by the Local Content and Local Participation Committee. Furthermore, these entities are obligated to comply with the minimum provisions set forth in L.I.2354.
Ing. Maame Yaa Akowuah Tamakloe led the team that included other members from the Local Content and Local Participation Secretariat of the Energy Commission, namely Johnson Gbagbo Jnr., Stella Yawa Agusah, and Christabel Ocran.
