The Government has initiated an action plan to tackle the repercussions of the prevailing Elnino rains, deploying the Inter-ministerial Implementation Committee to spearhead these efforts.
The Principal Secretary of the State Department for Energy, Alex Wachira emphasized that this committee will play a pivotal role by furnishing early warnings, flood alerts, as well as crucial safety and emergency response information to both stakeholders and the general public.
This proactive approach underscores the government’s commitment to safeguarding communities and infrastructure from the potential challenges posed by the ongoing climatic conditions.
“The Government has launched an aggressive action plan to address the effects of the ongoing Elnino rains through the Inter-ministerial Implementation Committee.
The Inter-ministerial Implementation Committee will further provide early warnings, flood alerts, safety and emergency response information to stakeholders and the public.” Alex Wachira stated.
