Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has announced plan to deploy 300 servicemen to aid in the harvesting of a vast 6000-acre maize field located in Trans-Nzoia County.
The initiative was unveiled as he announced his arrival at the Kitale Showground during the launch of the National Youth Service Interventions for Agriculture and Food Security on the platform X.
Also present were a number of his fellow cabinet colleagues, including Susan, the CS for Health, and Zacharia Njeru, the CS for Water, along with various senior government officials.
Expressing his commitment to enhancing food security, Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria stated,
“Today, I will deploy 300 servicemen to assist in the harvesting of 6000 acres of maize in Trans-Nzoia County.”
This move is expected to not only boost the local agricultural sector but also provide valuable employment opportunities for the youth, contributing to the county’s economic growth and food self-sufficiency.
