Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki is currently spearheading a critical regional security meeting at Loruk, Baringo North Constituency.
This high-level meeting, attended by officials from Rift Valley Regional and Baringo County Security and Intelligence Committees, aims to formulate a comprehensive strategy to confront the menace posed by bandits terrorizing the local population.
Kindiki’s visit to this bandit-prone region comes in the wake of a harrowing incident just one week ago when suspected bandits launched a brazen attack on security officers belonging to the General Service Unit (GSU) during a routine patrol.
Prior to clashing with the GSU, the armed bandits targeted a nearby school, creating a tense situation in the area.
This engagement led to a fierce shootout between the bandits and security forces, causing panic among the residents of Kapindasum village, who found themselves caught in the crossfire.
