The Acting Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Services (FIRS), Zaccheus Adedeji, has hosted a delegation from Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited, a subsidiary of ExxonMobil, at the FIRS Headquarters in Abuja.
ExxonMobil, recognized as one of the top 30 corporate taxpayers in Nigeria, met with the FIRS leadership to engage in discussions as the tax agency seeks to foster closer ties with highly tax-compliant taxpayers.
Leading the ExxonMobil delegation was the Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer, Olusegun Banwo, in a meeting aimed at strengthening the company’s tax compliance and collaboration with the Nigerian tax authority.
In other development, the FIRS also hosted a delegation from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), led by Mr. Lealem Berhanu Dinku.
The UNDP team provided a comprehensive overview of their ongoing partnership with FIRS and engaged in discussions on strategies to further enhance collaboration between the two organizations.
Coordinating Directors of the FIRS were present to facilitate the productive dialogue between FIRS and UNDP, signifying the commitment to advancing sustainable development and effective taxation practices in Nigeria.
