The 18th Meeting of IGAD CEWARN Technical Committee on Early Warning and Response Meeting has today commenced in Mombasa.
The meeting had representatives from Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, and Uganda gathered to address issues related to conflict early warning and response.
The meeting also brought together the National Conflict Early Warning and Response Units (CEWERUs) and involved the participation of Focal Persons from Ministries of Foreign Affairs, along with representatives from Civil Society Organizations (CSOs).
The meeting is scheduled to run from 26th to 27th July, and aims to bolster cooperation and coordination among the member countries in the IGAD region.
Discussions during the two-day event will center on crucial matters pertaining to early detection of conflicts and timely response mechanisms.
