The Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl) has announced to host its inaugural Future Sensing and PNT Symposium 2023.
The symposium aims to gather experts from industry, academia, and the government to discuss and shape the future of defence sensing and position, navigation, and timing (PNT) technologies.
Taking place on November 20 and 21, 2023, at the East Midlands Conference Centre in Nottingham, the event will provide valuable insights into the next generation of technical challenges in these critical areas.
While primarily an in-person event, the main talks will be live-streamed to accommodate remote participants.
Sensor technologies play an increasingly vital role in both military and civilian operations, supporting various sectors such as autonomous mobility, logistics, and manufacturing.
In military applications, sensors are crucial for gathering data, enabling intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, and enhancing weapon systems’ capabilities.
However, as technology advances, new challenges emerge, including sensor congestion, smaller and more mobile targets, and sophisticated countermeasures.
