Minister of Communications and Digital Technologies, Mr Mondli Gungubele, will be holding a media briefing on Tuesday, June 20 2023, to provide an update on the progress of the implementation of the Broadcast Digital Migration program in South Africa.
The briefing will focus on the analogue switch-off Plan, following the Cabinet’s decision on 29 March 2023 to grant concurrence for the Minister to gazette the Analogue Switch-Off date for the country.
The objective of the migration program is to enhance media services in South Africa and release much-needed spectrum.
South Africa is making some strides towards achieving the long-delayed Broadcast Digital Migration.
Minister Mondli Gungubele’s update is expected to shed light on the current status of the implementation process and provide insight into the plan for switching off analogue signals.
