President William Ruto has announced the appointment of Isaac Rutto and Caroline Nzilani as members of the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) for a five-year term.
The National Assembly Justice and Legal Affairs Committee (JLAC) approved their nomination on June 13.
Isaac Ruto, the former Chepalungu Member of Parliament, and Nzilani were initially nominated by President Ruto on May 3.
Their role will be to represent Kenyans within the 11-member commission, with Chief Justice Martha Koome leading the commission.
The nomination was formally communicated to Parliament by Speaker Moses Wetang’ula in preparation for the vetting process.
This appointment highlights President Ruto’s efforts to strengthen the judiciary by selecting experienced individuals for key positions.
Isaac Ruto, with his background as a former Member of Parliament, brings political acumen and insight to the commission.
Similarly, Caroline Nzilani’s expertise and qualifications make her a valuable addition to the JSC.

The National Assembly Justice and Legal Affairs Committee will thoroughly review the qualifications, experience, and character of Isaac Ruto and Caroline Nzilani before making a final determination.
Once vetted and confirmed, they will assume their responsibilities as members of the JSC, working alongside Chief Justice Martha Koome and the other commission members.
