President William Ruto during the National Prayer Breakfast in Nairobi,emphasized the need for political leaders to prioritize justice and unity in their pursuit of political aspirations.
He stressed that political action should not undermine freedom but rather expand it, while also deepening democracy and security in the country.
The President urged leaders not to weaponize their grievances and instead focus on reconciling diverse views and resolving disagreements constructively.
He called for bold decisions and a united vision of a strong, secure, and prosperous Kenya, emphasizing that no leader should pursue a sabotage agenda in the name of competition.
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, First Lady Rachel Ruto, and several prominent leaders, including Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetang’ula, Speaker of the Senate Amason Kingi, and Attorney General Justin Muturi, were present during the event.
Deputy President Gachagua emphasized the importance of reconciling with the truth as a means to move the country forward.
Cabinet Secretary Mudavadi reaffirmed the government’s commitment to pro-people policies despite criticism from the Opposition, while Speaker Wetang’ula and Speaker Kingi stressed the necessity of working together to uplift the underprivileged in society.
