In a ceremony held on Sunday, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), the outgoing president, bestowed national honours upon several notable individuals.
Emeka Anyaoku, former Secretary-General of the Commonwealth, was honored with the prestigious title of Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger.
Among those receiving the Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic were Bisi Akande, former Governor of Osun; Olusegun Osoba; Mamman Daura; Godwin Emefiele, the Central Bank Governor, and various ministers who had served under Buhari.
