The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced the appointment of Kabir Mohammed, the current Manager of Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, as the new Managing Director of the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).
Mohammed is set to assume his new role next week, following the conclusion of the tenure of Capt Rabiu Yadudu, the outgoing Managing Director.
Prior to his appointment as FAAN MD, Mohammed served as the Regional General Manager for the North Central region and also held the position of Chairman of the Aviation Roadmap Implementation Committee since January 2022.

He effectively managed these responsibilities alongside his role as the General Manager of Special Duties at FAAN.
This appointment reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring efficient and effective management of Nigeria’s airports.
Mohammed’s extensive experience within the aviation industry and his previous roles within FAAN are expected to contribute to the continued growth and development of the country’s airport infrastructure.
The announcement comes as the aviation sector strives to rebound from the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and aims to enhance the overall passenger experience and safety standards across Nigerian airports.
