“The government’s aim is to assist the private sector by creating an enabling environment through making laws and policies that will allow businesses to thrive”. His Honour Mr Slumber Tsogwane said this yesterday when addressing the Business Community in Rakops.
Honourable Tsogwane said the success of the private sector will grow the economy adding that government intents to have an export led economy.
The Vice President encouraged them to market and advertise their businesses as these are key factors in the growth of a business.
The Deputy Permanent Secretary to the Vice President Mr Kagiso Habangana stated that as the office of the Vice President their mission is to motivate, mentor and train aspiring entrepreneurs. He said in the past they conducted youth entereprenuership workshops to encourage the youth to venture into businesses. He said they partnered with different stakeholders like Citizen Enterpreneurial Development Agency(CEDA), Local Enterprise Agency(LEA) and the Ministry of Gender, Youth Sports and Culture in executing the initiative.
Mr Habangana said their aim is to continue conducting the workshops to capacitate the youth and pleaded with the business community to come on board to assist the community.
Rakops Business Community Chair Mrs Ernie Engliton submitted that they make efforts to create jobs and employ citizens. She pleaded with the Vice President for government to ease laws and requirements regulating businesses to enable more people to venture into business.
The business community raised a concern that government takes long to pay suppliers citing that it impacts negatively on their businesses.
