Principal Secretary of the State Department for Energy, Alex Wachira represented Kenya as a keynote speaker at Enlit Africa 2023.
The program this year was themed ‘A multi-sectoral, multi-dimensional energy transition’.
Writing in post after the event, the PS indicated that the program was a great opportunity to share with the world great strides we are making in Kenya on matters in energy transition.
He continued that Kenya has embarked on events to develop renewable energy with a target to have 100% clean energy by 2030.
“We are embracing new technologies in battery storage, green hydrogen production and transmission, low carbon industrial uses and sustainable urban mobility to harness energy transition,” PS Alex Wachira added.
Concluding his writup, the PS noted that technologies that support regional integration have an enormous potential to reduce the cost of power supply thus supporting the rapid phasing out of diesel/Heavy Fuel Oil generation
