The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has issued a statement addressing the challenges faced during rainstorms and stormy winds, leading to power outages in various areas.
The company acknowledges its continuous efforts to strengthen and maintain a robust distribution network but highlights the impact of fallen trees, billboards, and ripped roofing on electrical conductors.
While transient tripping caused by the storms is swiftly restored, ECG informs the public that permanent faults on their feeders may require more time for rectification by their engineers.
In light of this, ECG urges individuals to promptly report incidents of fallen or sagging conductors within their vicinity to the ECG call center on 0302-611611, the nearest ECG office, or through their social media handles on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram for immediate intervention.
